The councillor for Mobility, Marco Cortés (PP), announced on Monday that the department has started to install information panels at taxi ranks on which, in addition to information about the locations themselves and the telephone numbers for requesting the service, users are invited to download the mobile application 'Pide Taxi'.
"With these new panels we want citizens to know all the information about this public service and we are also responding to a request from the sector, from Radio Taxi in particular, which had asked us to install these panels to provide up-to-date information", explained the councillor
On each panel there is a letter indicating that the rank belongs to a certain sector, so that users can provide this information if they request the service. There are also telephone numbers to call a taxi (952.47.82.88 and 952.47.65.93) and a QR code that leads to the mobile application 'Pide taxi'. The information is completed with the website www.taximijas.es, where you can make reservations and check the services available.
The president of Radio Taxi Mijas, Guillermo Martín, thanked the town hall for installing the panels. "It is a very convenient system, because it offers all kinds of information. There are places that are very far away and users don't know how to locate them, so by providing the letters it is easier for us to locate them. In just a few days we have noticed an improvement in the service", he reported.
Finally, Cortés explained that a total of 11 panels have been placed, although the intention is to progressively increase the number until the most used ones are covered. Mijas currently has 118 taxis.
