La Cala de Mijas was filled with music last Friday, with the event ‘Nights from the soul by the sea’, organised by the Department for Tourism of Mijas Town Hall. The duo Pino y Pino was in charge of opening this evening which was held at the Torreon square in La Cala. The duo composed by Andrés Pino and his son Andrés Pino Llul, travelled through the history of Spanish-speaking music. Since their creation, they have captivated audiences with their talent and passion. Andrés Pino told us about his son, Andrés Pino Llul, "although he is a lyrical singer, he sings all styles. He sings folk, zarzuela, opera, pop, everything. Today he has chosen a repertoire of Spanish-American and Spanish songs; mostly boleros and ballads, very romantic and beautiful songs".
Father and son have been performing in public since Pino Llul was a child, which led them to form this duo professionally, so that they could tour many stages all over the world. "Professionally, we have been recording albums, touring and performing outside Spain, for 16 years", explained Pino, to which he added that "my son also has his own pop and Latin music orchestra".
These nights are organised by the Tourism Department and will be held again on the 2nd, 16th and 23rd of August. The councillor for Tourism in Mijas, Francisco Jerez (Vox), said that "we brought Andrés Pino, I would say that he is one of the best tenors in the province of Malaga. Today's concert will last about an hour and will feature well-known pieces that are sure to impress".
The next date of the event ‘Nights from the soul by the sea’ will feature the duo Pino y Pino again. It will be on Friday 2nd of August, at 22 hours, in the Plaza del Torreón in La Cala de Mijas.
