The VDU association of businesswomen from Germany visited the Mijas Town Hall on Saturday 23rd of September, where some twenty members were received by the councillor for Foreigners, Roy Pérez (PSOE). The visit was coordinated by the department and the association Costa Women Founder, chaired by Ali Meehan, who explained that the reason for this meeting was because "it is a group of women who wanted to visit a typical Spanish village to find out what kind of products can be invested in here". 

In their meeting with the councillor for Foreigners, the latter explained that in Mijas, "in addition to the tourism sector, especially during the pandemic, we have noticed how our municipality has been a reference in the implementation of companies that work with technology, most of them from Scandinavian countries, who have decided to establish their businesses here", and added that, "at the same time, they count on workers from the municipality, who are very good, and who can contribute greatly to these companies". 

Roy Pérez informed the visitors about the business activity in the municipality and also the tax incentives offered by the local entity to the investor. "Mijas is a municipality with more than 8,000 self-employed, small and medium-sized companies, and it is also one of the municipalities with over 50,000 inhabitants where less taxes are paid". 

In addition to these factors, Pérez pointed out that the geographical location of our town is also a great attraction for foreign companies: "We have reinforced the importance of the fact that we are a municipality with beaches, with mountains, with opportunities".
