The municipal corporation held its first ordinary plenary session of the year on Wednesday 26th. It was a short session, in which only two items on the agenda were discussed. The first of these referred to the association Círculo de Mujeres Casa Luna, which has already been included among the Mijas groups declared to be of public utility. It promotes the general interest and organises activities that do not exclusively benefit its members. 
As explained by the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Tamara Vera (PSOE), “the proposal has favourable reports from the Equality Department, with whom this association works closely in the planning of various events”. Thanks to this denomination, the group will be eligible for municipal subsidies aimed at associations in Mijas. 
During the speeches of the opposition groups, the non-attached Councillor, Esperanza Jiménez, also wanted to value the role played by this group, which provides services in Mijas. “It helps women to undertake, to heal themselves, to understand themselves and to relate to each other through sisterhood, something that we had forgotten for a long time”, said the Councillor.
The proposal was supported by the PSOE, Ciudadanos and the non-attached Councillors. The Partido Popular of Mijas, on the other hand, abstained from voting.
