On Monday 31st, the progressive recruitment of the last definitive list of 434 people will begin

Next Tuesday, 1st February, the first call for applications for the Basic Income for 2022 opens, as announced by the Councillors of Mijas Complementary Services (MSC), Arancha López (Cs) and Laura Moreno (PSOE). Those interested in applying, to take part in this Social and Labour Insertion Programme set up by the municipal company, can download the form from the Town Hall website (www.mijas.es) and send it together with all the documentation until 27th February, to the email address rentabasica@servicioscomplementarios.es. They can also be submitted in person at the Employment Promotion Department or the municipal offices until Friday 25th, explained López, who encouraged those interested to submit their applications. The new call for applications is open, as the Councillor added: “We currently have no vacancies, we will receive all the applications that we receive and based on them we will evaluate them and draw up a provisional list and a definitive list”, although it will not be the only one. “We plan to open another call for applications in the future. We can’t say exactly when, because it will depend on the number of applications we receive in this one,” she added.

New recruitments

On the other hand, next week, the recruitment of the last definitive list published, which includes 434 people, will begin. “On Monday, we begin hiring, around 50, and we will do so progressively, to be able to deliver all the documentation, uniforms and avoid problems of crowding due to COVID issues,” said Moreno (PSOE), who pointed out that calls will be made gradually, until “possibly exhausting the list,” something that will happen when “the summer season” arrives. Moreno recalled that the municipal company is studying “each of the professional profiles, the age and the different medical pathologies that the different users of this programme may have, in order to adapt the job to them. Work-life balance is also very important for us; there are many single-parent mothers who need to have access to a job to support their family and for this government team it is very important to adapt the jobs”.
Mijas Complementary Services, also clarified that 2020 and 2021, were exceptional years for hiring in the municipal company, due to the economic crisis resulting from the pandemic. It is expected that this year, the number of hirings will be reduced and return to the numbers of previous years, with between 300 and 350 contracts and not the 700 of the entire 2020 and 2021 lists. Unemployed people were also encouraged to apply for this programme and ask for more information for job placement at Mijas Complementary Services or the Employment Promotion Area, which has signed agreements with several companies.
