The Ministry for Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has put out to tender the contract for the structural rehabilitation works on the surface of the A-7 Mediterranean Highway, on km 1013 + 145 to km 1041 + 230, in the municipalities of Marbella, Mijas and Fuengirola, in the province of Malaga. The tender is offered for the amount of 8.01 million euros.

The works consist of the repair and reinforcement of the surface of the entire width of the roads and roundabouts, shoulders, bus stops and median crossings, acceleration and deceleration lanes and accesses to urbanisations. Additionally, in sections where major repairs are needed, the intermediate layer of the road surface will be milled. The works will be concluded with the repainting of all existing road markings and beaconing in the sections to be repaired and resurfaced.

This work is included within the conservation and maintenance programme of the State Highway Network, in which 26.4 million euros have been invested since June 2018 in the province of Malaga, which provides a significant boost to improve the quality of the existing state road infrastructure.
