The fourth edition of the Las Lagunas Tapas Route has already fired up the kitchens of the nine participating establishments. From Saturday 18th until the 29th of November, locals and visitors alike can enjoy a tapa and a drink (a small beer, a glass of house wine, water or a soft drink) for just 3.50 euros.

The initiative, launched by the Commerce Department of the Mijas Town Council in collaboration with the Federation of Associations of Mijas (FAM), kicks off this new edition with some new features, running every day for both lunch and dinner according to the opening hours of the participating venues. Year after year, these establishments improve their gastronomic offerings. “We are very happy with this fourth edition; the bars are getting better and better. This year the level is impressive, the tapas are delicious. I invite everyone to come along because it’s worth it”, said the president of the FAM, Rosario Cortés, known as Charo.

From the Mijas Town Hall, the councillor for Commerce, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), highlighted the municipal commitment to providing a bus for users. “We are also participating in the organisation with this logistical device, a bus that will run on Saturdays from 12 to 16 hours and from 19:30 to 23:30 hours with seven stops to cover the entire route”, said the councillor.

The El Paseo Andaluz restaurant and Las Torres bakery are two of the participating venues, along with the Circo shop, Las Tablinas, Corte de Autor, Bar Gaby, Freiduría Tikis Mikis, Heladería Sabor & Canela and Cafetería Alessandra. Mijeños and visitors have already started filling their tapaportes at these establishments. With just seven stamps from different establishments, they will receive a free gift while stocks last, which can be collected from the library at the Manuel España Theatre, Monday to Friday from 8 to 20 hours. They will also be entered into a final draw with great prizes. “We come to the route every year”, said María Martín. The tapas are a real draw: “They offer great quality, and on top of that, a drink and a tapa for 3,50 euros. You can’t get that anywhere else”, said Isabel Becerra.
