The Local Government Board of the Mijas Town Hall has authorised the replacement of a section of the sewerage network located in an area next to Calle Conde de Jordana in Sitio de Calahonda.
This project, charged to the Acosol Water Infrastructure Improvement Canon, will allow the replacement of the section of sewerage collector which is currently partially worn out and various land settlements. In addition, part of its route runs through a private plot of land, which makes maintenance work difficult.
The proposed interventions, which require an investment of 26,515.77 euros, consist of replacing the aforementioned section of the collector by building a new 84-metre-long wastewater collector whose route will run from the existing well, which will also be renovated, to end up connecting with the collector coming from Calle Conde de Jordana.
In this way, not only will action be taken on a section that is in poor condition, but also the correct maintenance of the same will be guaranteed. As explained by the councillor for Infrastructures, Juan José Torres Trella (PP), "one of the priority objectives of this government team is to ensure the correct use of such a scarce resource as is water and, to this end, one of the most beneficial measures is the acceleration of the procedures so that those measures that favour the use and correct maintenance of the facilities are carried out as quickly as possible".
