The artist Veronique Favrat presents her exhibition of prints 'Procesando'

  • This is an exhibition using the collagraph technique, which combines painting and the use of recycled materials
  • Councillor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín, with Veronique Favrat.

The artist presents a collection of abstract works, which also promote environmental awareness, at the Mijas Pueblo Tourist Office

This exhibition aims not only to stimulate our sense of sight but also our conscience. Veronique Favrat's 'Processing' seeks to raise environmental awareness through visual creativity, inviting the viewer to reflect, to "process" their actions and decisions. "The viewer can interact; I interpret the drawing once it is finished but many people see one thing and I can see another; there is a kind of freedom between the artist and the viewer", said Favrat last Thursday at the opening of the exhibition at the Tourist Office in Mijas Pueblo, which was attended by the councillor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín (Cs).

It consists of twelve abstract works based on images that come from the artist's subconscious and captured with the 'collagraph' technique. "Collagraphy, a technique that I have been developing for five years and which is done using a cardboard plate; I use a lot of recycled materials to raise awareness about the sustainability of art and I mix the colours, then it is put on the press with the paper, where it is printed", explained Favrat.

The artist is Swiss although she has been based in Mijas for more than 30 years. Her work is almost a movement that tries to promote environmental awareness and the reuse of waste. We can find her, as we have said, in the Tourist Office in Mijas Pueblo, which shows the visitor that our municipality is not only sun and beach, but also art. "I advise and recommend that you come and see it", said Martín, who defined Favrat's work as "innovative and of high quality", for which he thanked her "for wanting to come and show her art in Mijas, so don't miss it, come to the Tourist Office in Mijas Pueblo".

Her work is already well known in Mijas, as this is the third time Favrat has exhibited in the village. She has also travelled to other municipalities in the province of Malaga, but now she will remain here until the 31st of July. You can see her work, from nine in the morning to eight in the evening; and at weekends, from ten to two. Find out more about this artist through her Instagram account: @Re-Art10.
