ACE Shin is urgently appealing for help for the nearly 600 dogs and 200 cats housed at its shelter in La Cala. As they explain in a statement, “never before in our 23-year history have we faced such huge challenges in our ongoing commitment to saving and rehoming abandoned, unwanted and abused animals”. They argue that never has their shelter’s situation been “so uncertain” as, they say, “donations are becoming fewer and farther apart”.  The group is therefore asking for food for the animals, financial donations and veterinary supplies. Those interested in collaborating with ACE Shin can request more information by calling 647 647 671 (Carolyn) and 711 039 124 (Martyn) or by sending an email to info@ace-charity.org.  Food donations can be dropped off at the ACE shelter itself, Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm; at Snack Attack in La Cala, the Carrefour building in La Cala from Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm (Carmen) and from 4pm to 8pm at Ibex Insurance (Fuengirola). Also at the solidarity market held on the last Wednesdays and Saturdays of each month with stands set up from 11 to 14 hours on the Branch Office Square in La Cala de Mijas.
