On the occasion of 9M, the Day of the Missing Persons without Apparent Cause, members of the municipal corporation, led by the Mayor, Josele González (PSOE), and neighbours gathered at the doors of the Town Hall. There, the patron of the European Foundation for Missing Persons QSDglobal Carmen Gómez read out the manifesto of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and remembered not only her brother, the hiker Juan Antonio Gómez Alarcón, who was last seen in 2010, but also the other four missing persons in Mijas: Amy Fitzpatrick, Isabel María Cortés, Francisco Ruiz and John M. Leach.
