From 1st to 4th of October, the ‘La Pequeña Cuba’ festival will be held, a themed cultural and gastronomic event running from 12 noon until the early hours of the morning. Organised by the Department of Public Thoroughfares and the Cubanos Unidos association, it will feature food stalls, cocktail bars, craft stalls and live performances throughout the day, as well as DJs with sets for all ages.
According to the councillor for Public Thoroughfares, Melisa Ceballos (PP), “we have organised similar events in other town centres, but we also wanted to bring it here to La Cala, which is a very special place, so that Cuban and Spanish families could enjoy themselves together”.
The president of the Cubanos Unidos association and organiser of the event, Mónica Delgado, outlined the extensive programme on offer. “We have entertainment, live music, DJs, stalls selling food, drink and crafts, and even a day dedicated to the youngest members of the family”.

The festival will begin each day at 12 noon, from Thursday to Sunday. The event is designed for all ages. Admission to the event is free of charge. Gastronomy
The festival will feature eight food stalls, as well as stalls selling traditional handicrafts from the Caribbean island. Visitors will be able to sample typical Cuban dishes, such as congrí rice, roast pork, tamales, corn fritters and suckling pig. Cocktails and entertainment with live music and DJs will also be on offer.
