The Infrastructure Department at Mijas Town Hall has just awarded contracts for the drafting of 14 comprehensive street refurbishment projects across the municipality’s three main urban centres. The scheme also includes upgrading the access road and surroundings of the Puerto chapel, as well as creating parking spaces near the racecourse.
According to the councillor responsible for the department, Juan José Torres Trella (PP), these contracts will allow the projects to be drafted ahead of the actual construction work. The overall budget allocated to these measures amounts to 308,000 euros, covering 13 specific streets, the area around the aforementioned Puerto chapel, and the provision of parking spaces near the racecourse.
The streets included in these improvements are San Benjamín, San Braulio, Almería, Granada, Ciprés, Río Odiel and Río Guadiana in Las Lagunas; Pablo Ruiz Picasso in Mijas Pueblo; and Cártama, Cómpeta, Segovia, Paseo Fuengirola and Butiplaya in La Cala.

Other projects
Regarding the access road to the Puerto chapel and the restoration of its surroundings, Torres Trella highlighted that the contract for drafting the project has been awarded to Oluz, for 29,645 euros. The project to create parking spaces near the racecourse will be drafted by Roma Ingenieros Consultores SL for 24,198.90 euros.

In addition to these two firms, contracts for the remaining projects have also been awarded to Consultora Aragonesa de Ingeniería SA, Ingeniería Atecsur SL, PRYDO Ingenieros Consultores SL, Roma Ingenieros Consultores SL, Idic Consulting Ibergroup, and Narval Ingeniería SA.
