On the 2nd of June, CAC Mijas opened a new temporary exhibition, ‘In the Footsteps of Dalí and Picasso’, a group show featuring 23 Finnish artists who exhibit here every year thanks to the centre’s collaboration with the Eva International Art Gallery. The exhibition will be open until the 10th of June at CAC Mijas.
Don’t miss the chance to enjoy contemporary European art here in Mijas. According to the director of the CAC, Francisco Javier Fructuoso, “this is the fourth edition of this exhibition. We are bringing a selection of young Finnish talent thanks to our collaboration with a gallery from that country. Every year we bring a selection of new artists from that region, thereby giving them the opportunity to exhibit in Spain and showcase their work”.
The exhibition opened on Tuesday 2nd of June in the presence of the councillor for Culture, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), and the gallery owner, Eeva Kulmala, who also attended the event. The councillor stated that “this exhibition is yet another example of what it means for our town to be open to the world, where everyone is welcome, and above all where we appreciate the different artistic sensibilities found across the globe”.

Meanwhile, Kulmala said: “I find it incredible to be able to bring works of art from Finland all the way here. I consider it a great honour to share space with Dalí and Picasso in these premises, as they are two of the greatest artists of all time. We are delighted with this collaboration”.
This agreement with the CAC aims to promote contemporary art in our region and to strengthen the collaborative ties between the Remedios Medina Foundation, which manages the museum, and other countries.
