The 'Eres pieza clave' campaign is entering its final weeks with a major challenge: covering the costs of the ten hospital beds that the foundation manages in Benalmádena. To date, public solidarity has raised nearly 150,000 euros, but more than half of the budget needed to ensure the operation of this service throughout the year still remains.
Cudeca's financial director, Rafael Olalla, has called for participation in this critical phase: "We are in the final stage of the campaign, which is why we need this last push. We need the help of the public, people who want to help us. A donation of one euro, 100,000, whatever you can give; any amount is valuable for the cause".
The Mijas Town Hall has joined this final effort by providing the Cortijo Don Elías venue for a charity Zumba Masterclass. The event will take place on Saturday 21st of February at 11:30 hours and will be open to everyone.
The councillor for Sports and Volunteering, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP), encouraged residents to join the initiative as "various intructors are taking part, and all funds raised will go to Cudeca, so I want to encourage people to participate".

Zumba instructor Marieke van der Velde, coordinator of the activity, said that it will be a festive day featuring instructors from across the coast. "It’s going to be a really fun event, with two hours of Zumba", she added.
Raffles
In addition to the sport, the Idiliq Foundation is encouraging donations by raffling off stays at its resorts. Its president, Juan Miguel Marcos, explained how it works: ‘We have donated accommodation at our resort in Mijas or Tenerife to be raflled among anyone who makes a donation of 50 euros or more via the Cudeca website".
