The traditional Cudeca Walkathon will take place on Saturday 24th of May

  • It will be a great charity event, with lots of entertainment for young and old alike, and filled with hope
  • Se trata de una iniciativa que siempre despierta el interés de muchas personas.

There will be two routes, 10 and 5 kilometres long, starting at 10 hours and 11 hours, respectively, from the Benalmádena seafront promenade

The Cudeca Foundation is preparing one of its biggest events, the traditional Walkathon, a festive charity event full of hope that will take place on Saturday 24th of May on the seafront promenade in Benalmádena.

Once again, Cudeca is encouraging us to walk together for a good and necessary cause, to raise funds to continue providing palliative care to people with cancer or other advanced illnesses, while also supporting their families during this difficult time.

There will be two routes, both with the same destination: solidarity. The 10-kilometre route will start at 10:00 hours on Calle Torrevigía, on the Benalmádena seafront promenade, while the second, five-kilometre route will start an hour later, at 11:00 hours.

In addition to the walk, which will take place in a family-friendly atmosphere, there will be activities for all ages and interests. The promenade will burst into colour with a big Holi party to celebrate life. There will also be live music, dance performances, zumba and yoga sessions, children’s games, lunch, and a charity raffle.

Registration costs €7 for children and €15 for adults and can be done via the Cudeca website or on the day at a registration point that will be set up on Calle Torrevigía. The registration fee includes a welcome pack with an official T-shirt, a plate of paella or a hot dog, a bag of coloured Holi powder, water, fruit and sunscreen. There will also be a 'fila cero' option on the Foundation's website for those who cannot attend the walk but would like to make a donation.

Cudeca, caring at the end of life

In 2024, Cudeca cared for 1,934 people and offered support to more than 2,400 family members. Since 1992, more than 19,000 patients have been cared for through interdisciplinary home care programmes, a day unit and a hospitalisation unit, supported by psychosocial care and rehabilitation programmes. Cudeca's medical care and nursing services are completely free of charge and are provided with the aim of ensuring quality of life, independence and dignity for those in its care until the end.
