The countdown to the Romería de Las Lagunas 2025 has begun. Last Saturday, 10th of May, the official poster, designed by Aída Gómez, was unveiled. The poster announces this popular celebration in honour of the Virgen de la Paz (Our Lady of Peace), which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary and will be held on Sunday, 25th of May.

“Behind all this, there is a great deal of affection, love and dedication, and when things are done with love, they turn out just as they have today”, said the president of the brotherhood, Bosco Rivas. 

The poster design

The poster is not just a work of digital art, it is a reflection of identity, values and devotion. As Rivas said, Gómez “has managed to capture the essence of the pilgrimage. The Gitana with her reed, the rosemary, the medal of our brotherhood, looking at our patron saint as she arrives at Esparragal”.

“It has been an afternoon that already heralds the joy of the pilgrimage, of experiencing it as a community”, said parish priest Manuel Jiménez. In addition to the presentation, during the event attendees were able to enjoy an exhibition of some of the posters that have announced this celebration over its forty-year history, and two plaques of appreciation were presented. One to the author of the poster, Aída Gómez, and the other to Mijas Comunicación for their collaboration.

The pilgrimage will take place on Sunday the 25th, starting at 11:15 hours, and this year the Peña Caballista de Mijas will accompany the Virgin on her arrival at Esparragal.
