The Foreigners Department of the Mijas Town Hall continues programming leisure and informative activities for the coming months in the municipality, on Monday morning they presented the different events that will take place in April and May.
Among these events we find some with charitable purposes, new ones and others already known, such as the second edition of the international business networking event. After last year’s success, the El Chaparral Golf Club will once again host this event on the 29th of April at 18:00 hours. To attend it is necessary to register by emailing events@thegreenlabelrestaurant.com or by calling 952 493 947. The entrance fee is 15 euros and includes a cocktail. “We want to act as a meeting point. Last year this event was already a success, with more than 130 entrepreneurs participating, and this year we want to be able to fill the maximum occupancy of the site we have chosen,” explained the councillor of the department, Mario Bravo (PP).
Other events
In addition to this meeting, the department has also scheduled different charity events such as the traditional solidarity tables of the associations on the last Wednesday and Saturday of each month; the PAD spring market on the 4th of May, from 11 to 15 hours, with stalls selling clothes, decoration, pet accessories, books, sweets and much more; and the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Mijas Felina on the 18th of May, from 10 to 15 hours, where there will be a belly dancing class, handicrafts, a market, homemade sweets, tapas and refreshments. According to the head of the department, Katja Thirion, “we always count on the collaboration of other associations who visit us, we talk and many times also, from these meetings new projects and new ideas are born, so these really are days for all of us to get together”. These events will take place in the La Cala Branch Office square.
Finally, on the 7th of May a talk on safety and traffic regulations will take place in the assembly hall of the La Cala Branch Office at 16:00 hours. The technician of the area, Laura Córdoba, stated that “it will be a talk in English about traffic regulations and rules, as sometimes it can be very confusing, especially for foreigners, so we will be pleased to have the association N332 to talk about it”. It will be given by Guardia Civil officer Francisco Javier Morales and instructor Mark Nolan. This event is open to the general public and to attend, places must be booked by sending an email to FRD@mijas.es.
To conclude, Mario Bravo said that “our aim is to cover all those needs that foreigners have and that, perhaps, are a little different due to the fact that they come from other countries, although our main objective is to integrate them into the culture of the area”.
