According to the report offered by the Costa del Sol Hotel Entrepreneurs Association (Aehcos), the hotel occupancy rate registered in the province of Malaga during 2024 was 78.14%, almost two points more than the rate registered in 2023. (4) In December, occupancy levels exceeded 56% in the province, with Mijas being among the municipalities with the best data, 53.67%, behind Frigiliana-Torrox, Fuengirola and Benalmádena. 

According to the president of the Aehcos, José Luque, the modernisation of the hotel plant on the Costa del Sol and the specialised offer of the establishments have led to an increase in occupancy, for which he congratulated "the different people responsible for promoting the destination for the effort and work they carry out on a daily basis". 

For January and February of this year, the association estimates that occupancy will exceed 54% and 56%, respectively, throughout the province, although both last-minute bookings and weather conditions will have to be taken into account. As for Mijss, it is expected that in February the occupancy rate will exceed 53%, being one of the municipalities that will head the list of towns with the highest number of bookings.
