Formed by more than 300 entrepreneurs from the Costa del Sol, the Circle of Entrepreneurs has launched the Hotel and Catering Board. It is proposed as a meeting point for key players in the sector, with the aim of fostering the development of a competitive, inclusive and prepared environment for the challenges to come. “We understood that we had to work so that from our association we support all hoteliers and restaurateurs, who are the ones who generate employment and wealth to the business sector", said the president of the Circle, Adolfo Trigueros, during the presentation of the initiative at CIOMijas.

Among the priority lines of action are training and professional certification, innovation and digitalization, and inclusion and sustainability. “As we work in the sector we have three departments of research, development and innovation and we promote this type of ideas to improve and professionalize all the training needs that influence our secto”, said the director of CIOMijas, Raquel Hidalgo.

For his part, the Councillor for Economic Development, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), was at the event supporting the initiative and announced GastronoMijas, a municipal initiative “that aims that our entrepreneurs in the field of hotels, restaurants and businesses related to food and even to agriculture, allow job opportunities and work with the ambition to position Mijas as a locomotive not only in tourism, which already is, but also through all the opportunities that the different facets of the economy allow".
New delegate
On the other hand, the new delegate of the Circle of Entrepreneurs in Mijas was also presented, after the resignation for professional reasons of José Francisco Ruiz Fontalba. “The Circle of Entrepreneurs is very excited, is doing a great job and I am sure that my successor will exceed the work I have done, because, ultimately, my career has been very short for professional reasons that force me to be absent", said Ruiz Fontalba.
He will be succeeded by Marcos Peralta, from the company Trindia Inteligencia Artificial: “What we want, above all, is to generate union among entrepreneurs, that we can become strong with respect to institutions, that we can contribute our point of view to obtain economic growth, employment, development of the interests of entrepreneurs, and work hand in hand with the administrations”.
