The 45th edition of Fitur comes to remind us of the consolidation of this tourism fair. On Sunday 26th of January this exhibition where the Costa del Sol is present with all the municipalities that make it up, including Mijas, will come to an end. The councillor for Tourism in the municipality, Francisco Jerez, makes a positive assessment of Mijas's presence at this tourism fair, one of the most important in the world.
Until Sunday, those responsible for tourism in each municipality will be keeping a close eye on everything that happens during these days. Fitur is also a business fair that drives a sector that is constantly changing, which also leads to continuous adaptation. Tour operators, investors and representatives of institutions meet every day to learn about the needs and expectations of the sector.
The expedition of the Tourism area, in which the head of the Tourist Office, Juan Carlos Acevedo, has also participated, met with entities such as Telefónica, the magazine ‘Viajar con hijos’ or the Spanish-Japanese Association. A tourism fair that allows us to get to know the trends of a sector that is the economic engine of Andalusia. That is why participation in fairs of this type is a must. "You make contacts with people with whom you normally would not have the opportunity to talk to, people from other municipalities with very similar interests and exchange ideas to do something innovative in your municipality", the councillor said.
Immerse yourself in Mijas
At Fitur the best experiences are offered and new attractions are proposed as tourist incentives. An example of this is Mijas, which presents a very varied tourist offer, as reflected in this year's campaign: 'Sumérgete en Mijas' (Immerse yourself in Mijas). Its promotional video, produced by Mijas Comunicación, takes us to the sea, the coastal path, the mountains and the whitewashed streets.
