The El Juncal Neighbourhood Association held a solidarity rock party on Friday at the Manuel España Theatre in Las Lagunas. The event featured performances by Deja Vu, Rock Revival and Tributo Rock Band to raise funds for the animal associations PAD and Aristochat, which face urgent needs due to the increase in animal abandonment.

Live music, good atmosphere, bar service and an area where interested attendees could deposit cleaning products for both groups, food for animals and other donations. These were the ingredients of this charity party organised by the El Juncal Neighbourhood Association. As Angeles Muñoz, member of the board of directors of the El Juncal Neighbourhood Association, explained, "we organised this event to help and raise funds for these animal collectives, that need the support of the neighbours". This event featured the participation of Deja Vu, Rock Revival and Tributo Rock Band, who performed selflessly without any financial reward.

The animal associations PAD and Aristochat appreciated the initiative, because, they say, their task is becoming more complicated every year. The president of Aristochat, Chantal Lancelot, explained that "we need a lot of help as every year there is more abandonment, specially of domestic cats", to which she added that the association "cannot look after more cats, as the care for 200, so in order to look after more animals, they need more donations, space and volunteers".

The Mijas Town Hall collaborated with the event. The government team also praised the work done by the animal associations. The councillor of the government team, Lourdes Burgos, highlighted "the work that aristochat and PAD have been doing for so many years, because it is thanks to animal associations that there is an animal welfare law".
