The Smile Mile, will celebrate its third edition next Sunday 27th of October in the vicinity of the Wyndham Grand Costa del Sol. The walk has a charitable purpose, as the funds raised will go to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
After several years of hiatus, the Idiliq Foundation has resumed this charity event coinciding with the celebration of its 25th anniversary, in a month in which the campaigns against breast cancer take place, reaffirming once again its commitment to social groups. The president of the foundation, Juan Miguel Marcos, explained that this is a family event, "an event in which we always have a great time and in which we hope that all the participants also enjoy". "It is not a competitive event, there are no prizes for the winners, there are prizes for those who enjoy the most and we hope that it will be very well received both by our volunteers and by the citizens of Mijas and the whole province", added Marcos.
The event also takes place in October, a month in which breast cancer campaigns are carried out. The president of the Mijas Spanish Association Against Cancer, Lola Sanchís, stressed the importance of this type of fundraising event: "We are an NGO that depends on donations and collaborations from all those who want to help us and, above all, in this case, we are grateful to the foundation that supports us every year in October".
The Mijas Town Hall collaborates in the organisation of the event, as indicated by the councillor responsible for the area, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP): "From the Sports area we are doing some planning for the race and also advising so that everything goes smoothly"
After the walk, the day will continue with a party with food, drink, entertainment and a charity market.
