Last Saturday, Mijas Pueblo enjoyed the first of the three events that the Mijas Joven programme has prepared to enjoy in different parts of the municipality during the month of August. Children and teenagers were the protagonists of the foam party prepared in the Plaza Virgen de la Peña. Entire families and groups of friends, as well as locals and tourists who stroll through the town during these days, came to enjoy this perfect alternative to alleviate the high temperatures.
While the cannon kept on throwing foam, DJ Koke Gálvez was in charge of livening up the party by playing the most popular songs of the summer. The Archconfraternity of the Nazarene set up a bar with food and drinks at popular prices.
For those who attended it was a great success, as Cloe Terés said "it's really good, for children and teenagers it's really fun and the music and everything was spectacular". Marc Dalmau also attended with his four children and considered this to be a perfect plan for the afternoon "with the heat it is very nice to have a little party with foam, it's great".
Night to the rhythm of Alejados
Some found the concert by pure chance and did not hesitate to stay and enjoy the event, as Silvia Alcolea, who was spending the day in Mijas with her family and decided to join the part. "We listened to the concert and we loved it because the truth is that they are spectacular musicians, we heard them from the distance and we came to hear them play". The same thing happened to Flor García and Gregorio Martín, who enjoyed the evening and wanted more. "I want them to start again so I can keep on dancing", said Flor.
For their part, the neighbours Vianca Hammadi and David Villalobos explained that these summer plans "were needed, they bring life to the town, you have to make the most of the summer".
The Youth Department is responsible for this new programme, which on its first Saturday has already been a great success in terms of participation, both, in the foam party and in the concert by the group Alejados, which were the cherry on the cake. The councillor responsible, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP), enjoyed both activities and encouraged people to attend the following events, "in two weeks it will be in Las Lagunas and on the 31st in La Cala, it will be the same, a foam party with a dj first and then a concert".
