The Mijas Town Hall, through the Department of Festivities, has opened the registration period to participate in the traditional contest of queen and king of the Mijas Fair, to be held in the municipal booth on the night of September 4th. Those interested in participating can submit their applications, addressed to the Department for Festivities, until the 2nd of September through the electronic site or at the municipal registers located in the town hall and in the branch offices in Las Lagunas and La Cala.
To participate it is necessary to meet the following requirements: to be registered in Mijas, to be between 16 and 30 years old, not to have been chosen in previous years and not to have received any prize in the previous edition. The winners will be chosen by a jury.
As well as the completed application form, those interested must provide a photocopy of their ID card, and in the case of minors, they must provide the corresponding authorisation and the identification document of a legal representative.
Children's King and Queen
Meanwhile, registration for the children's and baby categories will open at the municipal booth on the day of the contest, September 6th, from 20.00h. There they will be able to register to take part in the contest, which will take place on the same day from 21.00h. In this section there are two different categories, as there is a "baby male/female" for participants aged between 0 and 2 years and "children" for people aged between 2 and 15 years. The winners will be chosen by lottery.
