The Mijas Local Police is intensifying its campaign to ensure compliance with the municipal by-laws on civic coexistence. In this regard, in the last week, 32 fines have been suggested for non-compliance with these regulations. The aim of this initiative is to reduce uncivic behaviour in order to promote a cleaner and quieter environment for everyone.
The Local Police reminds us that in this summer season it is more important than ever to respect the timetables for depositing waste in the containers, noise nuisance and control of urine and pet excrement.
Arrests
Furthermore, the Mijas Local Police made 11 arrests last week. In one of the operations of the local officers and while they were on surveillance duties, they stopped a suspicious vehicle. That is when the person in charge of the car and the passenger fled, allegedly, when surprised by the police. The driver crashed his car into the police car, causing material damage, and then fled. The complicated action started in Calahonda and ended in Marbella. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident, and two people were arrested.
From the security forces they indicate that they will continue to work on prevention and act "firmly to maintain tranquillity on the streets, to protect and serve the residents, ensuring their peace of mind and guaranteeing a safe environment for everyone".
Firefighters
Among other actions, the Mijas Fire Brigade also intervened last Sunday in a traffic accident between two vehicles at kilometre 1011 of the AP7 in which 5 people were injured and had to be taken to the Costa del Sol Hospital. In the intervention, the firefighters, in addition to the rescue of the victims, also had to carry out road cleaning and prevention work to ensure road safety.
