  • La edil de Fiestas y Tradiciones del Ayuntamiento de Mijas, Silvia Marín, en la presentación este martes de la iniciativa en la Tenencia de Alcaldía de Las Lagunas.

The programme aims to liven up the neighbourhoods of Las Lagunas on Fridays in August with music and activities for all ages

Summering in Mijas is synonymous with fun, so there is nothing better than to keep on summering here in August. In addition to the many reasons that support this idea, there is another one, a new plan for Fridays in the different neighbourhoods of Las Lagunas. This is the Veraneando programme, which starts on the 9th with monologues by Jacob Torres and Javi Peluches in the Andalucía Park, so laughter is guaranteed.

The councillor for Festivities and Traditions of Mijas Town Hall, Silvia Marín (PP), presented the initiative on Tuesday, encouraging citizens to "share a fun and pleasant evening in their neighbourhood, as the aim of this initiative is to liven up the neighbourhoods after the request made to us by the different groups in Las Lagunas, who always say that many parties are held in the village or in La Cala, but not in Las Lagunas".

The monologues by Jacob Torres and Javi Peluches will take place at ten o'clock at night, just like the rest of the performances that complete the Veraneando programme, which will continue on the 16th of August, in the María Zambrano Park, with a concert by the local band Maníacos. On the 23rd of August, in Fernán Caballero Park, the chirigota María del Monte will perform; and on the 30th of August, in the Agua Park, the party will be set up for the little ones, with inflatables, foam cannon and dances. "We have to say that the water in this park and the water that will be used in the party is return flow, which allows us to do this type of activities, to which we will add inflatables, popular games and a foam cannon; what we want is for the children to have the perfect summer finale", said the councillor.

Marín thanks the associations from Las Lagunas for their involvement and the contributions they make to carry out these activities, such as the Mijas Cocktail Association, which this Friday will set up a bar in the Andalucía Park.

The entire Veraneando programme is free and open to the public.
