The streets Marbella and Torremolinos, in La Cala de Mijas, and Málaga, in Mijas Pueblo, have been closed to traffic from 19:00 to 00:00 hours since the 1st of July. The councillor for Public Roads, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP), explained that the Town Hall is closing the roads “so that visitors and residents can move around calmly”, in order to favour their “circulation” along these roads, among the busiest in the summer season due to the increase in the number of people. The councillor pointed out that the measure is also intended to favour the shops in these areas, which “tend to be very busy and the vehicles are an obstacle”.

The three streets have been closed to traffic on this schedule every day since July 1st. The measure will last until the end of August, according to the councillor.
