The councillor for Transport and Mobility, Marco Cortés, announced yesterday that the reinforcement of the M-119 line of the consortium municipal transport service, which links different points of the municipality with Fuengirola, is now active. As he explained, this line, highly demanded in the summer, has been reinforced, "in winter the line runs from Monday to Friday in 4 schedules, but now that there are many tourists, the service has been extended to 8 schedules from Monday to Friday, and has also been extended to weekends, so it is operating 7 days a week".
The line links Fuengirola with La Cala de Mijas, La Cala Health Centre, Pueblo Andaluz, Urbanización Miraflores, Riviera Park, Colina de Calahonda and Sitio de Calahonda.
On the other hand, the councillor informed that the conditions for the tender for four new taxis adapted for people with reduced mobility have been published.
He said that "the government team is firmly committed to ensuring that people with reduced mobility have a taxi service that responds to their demands and effectively meets their needs". He also pointed out that "it has been seven years since new places of this type were put out to tender".
The taxi sector was pleased with the news.
The vice-president of Radio Taxi Mijas, Juan Martel, considers that these new services "will make it easier for people with reduced mobility".
