The Irish company FBD Hotels & Resorts is celebrating twice this 2024. Its establishment in Mijas, La Cala Resort, celebrates 35 years of work and the Faithlegg Hotel, in County Waterford (Ireland), 25. To celebrate, they offered last Saturday a four-handed gastronomic experience, that of the chefs Jenny Flynn and Brian Deegan.
Attendees enjoyed seven dishes with a flavour of the Andalusian and Irish traditions. All of this in an evening that included the music of a string quartet. The commercial director of La Cala Resort, Edouard Des Fontaines, said that "this resort has had the same owners since the beginning, that is, since 1989, when the first golf course, the Asia course, was built. Now we have three courses, a four-star superior hotel, a luxury spa and we have just launched a real estate project".
This shows that the company is still committed to our municipality, something that the Mijas Town Hall appreciates. This was highlighted by the councillor of the government team, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP): "In the end this means wealth and employment for Mijas and, above all, also positioning. It is the best resort in Spain, as it is ranked by the professionals of the golf and hotel sectors, therefore, it is a reason to be proud of our municipality, so we continue to collaborate with them and work together because in the end our industry is tourism and golf".
Elegant melodies were played at this gala which also included a welcome cocktail and wine pairings in a privileged environment. Established in 1989, La Cala Resort continues to progress and is already improving its sustainability and structure in order to offer the best to its clients.
