Postal voting for the European Parliament elections, to be held in Spain on Sunday 9th of June,  can now be requested. Those interested may apply for a registration certificate in their corresponding electoral roll up to May 30th, inclusive, this is an essential requirement in order to be able to cast their vote. This can be requested at www.correos.es, certifying your identity through authentication and electronic signature.

It can also be requested at any post office, bearing in mind that the voter must go in person, except in the event of illness or accredited disability that prevents them from doing so. If you apply in person, you must prove your identity with your ID card, passport, driving licence or residence card. In addition, Correos reminds you that you can request an appointment through its app, website or virtual office in order to avoid waiting times.

The Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office will send applicants, as of 20 May, the documentation required to vote by post to the address they have specified. The deadline for casting the vote is June 5th. 

 

Call to vote

Voting is always important, whether at local, national or European level. In these elections, which take place every five years, voters will decide which Members of the European Parliament will represent them in making new laws and which influence the election of the European Commission. These decisions will be present in our and many other people's daily lives. That is why the councillor for the Department of Foreigners in Mijas, Mario Bravo (PP), has made a call for those residents who can, to vote: "The coexistence in Europe is made by all of us and to succeed in it, we must all work together. These elections are held every five years, so we ask for your participation, highlight Sunday 9th of June 2024 in your diary, as the day of the election for the European Parliament".
