The territorial delegate of Economy, Finance, European Funds and Industry, Energy and Mines in Malaga, Carlos García, and the mayoress of Mijas Town Hall, Ana Mata (PP), proceeded this Tuesday to the signing of the document formalising the free transfer, by the council to the Junta de Andalucía, of the plot located in Las Lagunas, where a new Secondary School (IES) is currently being built.
To this end, after its transfer by means of ‘subjective change of ownership’ (when there is a change in the public administration owning the property, i.e. a change in the "subject" owner, without modifying its public use), the property is assigned to the Regional Ministry of Development and Vocational Training, the entity that is currently carrying out the works of the future IES Ana Carmona 'Veleta'.
The school is being built on a 7,500 square metre plot located at Avenida Ampa Las Caracolas, number 6, in Mijas. The Junta expects that the works, which are at 80% completion, will be finished and ready for the next school year 2024/2025.
The delegate of the Junta has valued this agreement as "an example of the good harmony between the two administrations and an example of institutional collaboration in favour of public service, which in this case will result in the improvement of the educational infrastructure in Mijas".
