Silvia Pucciarelli presented last Friday at the Contemporary Art Center of Mijas her pictorial collection 'Aires de mujer', which reflects her passion for Andalusia, an exhibition that can be visited until the 3rd of June. "Since I was a little girl I have always liked everything about Spanish dance, I loved it", said the artist, who gathers a total of 27 oil paintings in this collection, where the Andalusian woman is the protagonist. "The woman expresses the Andalusian culture wonderfully, whatever she dances, it is an art, to see her dance, move her hands, the gestures, the Andalusian dance is very expressive", said Pucciarelli.
She explained that her passion for art began when she arrived in Andalusia, going from being a hobby to a way of life. That's when she started taking classes to perfect her technique. "The style is mine, I don't define it, I don't only paint Andalusian women, I also have other types of works, the definition is that I like to paint and I paint what I see", affirms the artist.
For his part, the president of the Remedios Medina Foundation, Francisco Javier Fructuoso, said that it is a "very spectacular exhibition, very racial, it represents our culture, is incredible, it is very difficult to stay with one or two images, they have magic and strength".
The Mijas Town Hall encourages residents to visit this temporary exhibition. During her visit, the councillor Mari Francis Alarcón (PP) said that she really liked the works , especially "the paintings in black, with black and grey shades, which had a great impact on me, the colourful ones are also beautiful".
It is worth remembering that another artistic achievement of Pucciarelli was being selected in the Women and Art competition organised by the Museum of Art of Almería last year.
