En el incendio de Valtocado no hubo que lamentar daños personales pero sí materiales.

Las llamas calcinaron 250 hectáreas de terreno en el diseminado de Valtocado y alrededores.

The fire damaged area has been declared as Seriously Affected by a Civil Protection Emergency detail

On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers approved a package of aid for the victims of up to 57 events declared catastrophic and registered since last September in Spain. These include the tragic fire in the building in Valencia, the pellet contamination on the Galician coast or, here in Mijas, the fire that broke out on November 12th in the area around Valtocado, devastating up to 250 hectares of land for two days and causing material damage to some properties. Fortunately, no personal injuries were reported.

"It should be remembered that, as a result of this fire, one house was completely burnt, six others had their perimeter area damaged and four cars were burnt. Therefore, there are neighbours who will be able to ask for this aid for the material losses they suffered", said the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP).

The mayoress explained that the Valtocado area has been declared an Area Seriously Affected by Civil Protection (ZAEPC), which means that it is eligible for some of the aid provided, including up to 15,120 euros for total destruction of the main home, 10,320 euros for damage to the structure of the home, and just over 5,000 euros for other types of damage to the property. She also recalled that the maximum amount for destruction or damage to basic necessities, which can include vehicles, is 2,580 euros. "These are some of the amounts, perhaps not excessive, but they are useful to alleviate the damage caused by the fire and can provide some relief for those people who saw their personal belongings destroyed by the flames", added Mata.

The mayoress also encouraged the residents affected by this incident to ask for detailed information in order to apply for these benefits. "Already this morning we have been looking at what these forms will be, and we will also put them on the website of the Mijas Town Hall to inform all interested parties, as well as from the Town Hall we will try to answer any questions they may have, within our possibilities", concluded Ana Mata.
