Last week, officers of the plainclothes unit of the Mijas Local Police, during their regular surveillance service in Las Lagunas, detected a young man with a suspicious attitude driving a moped in an irregular manner and crossing the road dangerously.
According to the plainclothes officer and head of Communications of the Local Police, David Gutiérrez, "the officers identified and carried out a body search on the young man and the moped and found that inside there was a bag with two packages, each containing five plaques of hashish, weighing a total of 1 kg. They then informed him that he was going to be arrested for allegedly committing a crime against public health".
The detainee, a minor, was finally taken to the Guardia Civil, who continued with the investigation and was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The young man also did not have a driving licence, so he is being investigated as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety.
