Stunning Mijas Rhythmic Gymnastics Christmas Gala

  • The Municipal School and CP Mijas offer 20 brilliant performances

The Juan Roa de Osunillas sports centre experienced an afternoon full of emotions, applause and spectacular sets

The cold evening was filled with the warmth of the public and participants at the Juan Roa de Osunillas on Wednesday afternoon.  It was the 15th edition of the Christmas Gala organised by Rhythmic Gymnastics of Mijas with its municipal school in the three centres and the Club Polideportivo Mijas, with the federated group. "It is a very important afternoon, 15 editions come together to celebrate Christmas with the families and the students" commented Nina Gett, coach of the club.  It was an afternoon full of emotions, of grandparents beaming in the stands, of parents applauding every performance, of classmates hugging each other at the end of each choreography, of encounters.  Finally, there was the big surprise, in which a group of mothers and grandmothers, with an unexpected entrance, decided to change their position as unconditional companions for years, to, for one day, be the protagonists.  Las Maníacas put on a show with a staging, worked on in secret for weeks, that surprised everyone.  "It was a surprise because we were expecting the girls and young women to show their potential, but the mothers and grandmothers set an example", said the councillor for Sports, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP).

Earlier, the gala began with the medianas group from the La Cala school, the club's pre-junior duo, with Natalia and Sabrina.  The group of children from Las Cañadas in free hands; the children's trio with Aroa, Amaya and Sarah.  The group of children from La Cala School, free hands and ribbons.  The Osunillas school brought the duo of Mar and Noa; The intermediate part was for the Las Cañadas exercises, medium group.  Peques and medianas of the advanced school of La Cala.  Trio prebenjamín-alevín from Club Polideportivo with Dara, Xenia and Valentina; the junior group from La Cala.  The junior group, senior from CP Mijas; the junior trio, senior from Polideportivo.  The final part was occupied by Gabriela, children's individual, the large group from Las Cañadas; the senior trio from Polideportivo and the senior duo from Polideportivo and the cadet individual from Polideportivo.  The parade of all the gymnasts and the presentation of gifts closed a great gala in which there is always a spectacular show.
