On the afternoon of Tuesday 29th of November the Department for Foreigners in Mijas once again collaborated with various entities to hold an informative talk on topics of interest to local residents. As the councillor for Foreigners in Mijas, Mario Bravo (PP), reported, these meetings are necessary because "there are people who arrive with a different culture, with different customs, and it is good that they know how they have to deal in Spain with the Tax Office, Social Security, traffic, with their community of neighbours...".
This is not the first talk to be held in the town and it always covers a wide range of useful information. On this occasion, there were updates on visas and residency in Spain, inheritance laws and wills, taxes in Andalusia, insurance, investment formulas, and even on sustainability and the arrival of Artificial Intelligence.
Bravo recalled that, in addition, "these talks have an advantage, as they do not involve a cost for the Town Hall because we always find sponsoring companies that lend themselves to give presentations as real experts".
Thus, entities such as Blacktower, My Lawyer In Spain, LGT Wealth Management and Sam Campbell Insurance collaborated in this new event.
The associate director of Blacktower, Tim Govaerts, stated that "in this new meeting we have provided information on the financial and fiscal consequences when foreigners come to live and reside here". This was complemented by the update and news that the lawyer from My Lawyer In Spain, Alex Radford, offered on "visas and residency for international clientele, so that they know what steps to follow to apply for residency and visas here in Spain, for example".
