Mijas holds the ordinary plenary session for the month of October

  • In this plenary session, Maldonado has become a non-attached councillor

The institutional manifesto for the 25th November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, was approved

Following today's ordinary plenary session, councillor Juan Carlos Maldonado became a non-attached councillor. He no longer holds any councillorship or tenure as mayor. Maldonado registered a no-confidence motion together with PP and Vox on October 18th. On Thursday, 2nd of November, the plenary session to vote on the no-confidence motion will be held from 12:00 noon onwards. On the other hand, the institutional manifesto of the Mijas Town Hall for the 25th November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, was approved with the votes in favour of PSOE, PP, Ciudadanos and the non-attached councillor, Juan Carlos Maldonado; Vox voted against. In the presentation of the document in the plenary session, the councillor for Equality and Diversity, Natalia Martínez (PSOE), recalled that so far this year 51 women have lost their lives as victims of male violence in Spain.
