Mijas will once again become 'un pueblo de cine' (a film village). As announced on Tuesday morning by the councillor for Culture, Verónica Ensberg (PSOE), the three new workshops of this cultural cycle are already underway. "In Mijas, more and more people are becoming interested in the seventh art, not in vain whenever we launch a workshop related to this art, it is a guaranteed success. On this occasion, there will be 20 places for each of these courses on characterisation, creation of short films and motion graphics", explains the councillor.

Those interested in taking part can register from Wednesday October 25th by sending an email to cultura@mijas.es or by calling 952 59 03 80.

The workshop "Introduction to Film Characterisation" will be offered by Juana Torrijos on the 4th and 5th of November, the short film creation workshop, directed by Javier Gómez Bello, will take place on the 18th and 19th of November and, finally, "Introduction to Motion Graphics with After Effects", offered by Daniel Leiva and Álvaro Tamayo, will be held on the 25th and 26th of November. All of them will be held from 9 am to 2 pm, at the Employment Promotion building. 

"Once again, these courses are free and as always we invite participants to bring 3 kilos of non-perishable food items on the day the course begins to collaborate with the Mijas Town Hall Food Bank", adds Ensberg, who hopes that these courses will once again put the spotlight on "the great cinematographic talent we have in Mijas and which this government team has always promoted and supported, hand in hand with our local artists and with leading initiatives such as the mountain film festival or the short film festival".
