The seniors taking part in the first round of the senior citizens' tribute trip are already enjoying the different excursions organised for them. On Thursday, their second day in Cádiz, they visited one of the most important archaeological sites in Andalusia, Baelo Claudia, which has been declared a National Historical Monument. There are 500 people from Mijas Pueblo and La Cala who are enjoying their first four days of holidays in Cadiz. "This is marvellous, because Málaga and Cádiz have always got on very well", says one of the participants.
After leaving the hotel where they are staying in the morning, the Melia Zahara Atlanterra, they listened to the guides' explanations about the first of the excursions they have taken. The Baelo Claudia archaeological site is exhibited on a model that is kept in the museum of Bolonia, on the upper floor of the museum facilities. In the group, we found people very grateful to be able to take part in the excursion: "The trip went very well, the hotel was great, the food was very good", says one of the travellers. And, in between strolls, great stories like the one told by this roommate: "They put me with a lady who comes from Russia and is living in La Cala and had never been to a hotel and she told me that she had brought the chorizo from home in case she was hungry and when she saw the abundance and the hotel with so many delicacies she was surprised", says one of the women. The beaches and the people are exquisite they assured, on a journey along one of the most beautiful and most visited coastlines in Spain.
