Cudeca has charity shops in different parts of Malaga. In Mijas, we have one of them, located on the boulevard of La Cala and with a surface area of 130 metres. The objects found there have been donated and deserve a second chance. Pablo Podadera, who is the manager of the Benalmádena to Estepona area of Cudeca, explained that "what we have here is mostly furniture, we also have some clothes, as we receive many donations and we take advantage of this to sell them, but what we sell the most is furniture".

The aim of the establishment is clear: to raise funds through the sale of clothes and accessories as well as furniture and decoration to be able to allocate them to palliative care for people with advanced illnesses. Pablo told us how a Cudeca shop works. "We work with volunteers, we teach all the people who want to work with us how to operate in the way we do. On the other hand, we receive donations from people who want to collaborate in this way. Everything we raise goes to the hospital we have in Benalmádena to be able to help all the palliative care patients we have".

For Cudeca, new volunteers are always welcome, there is no specific profile, just the availability of four hours one day a week to cover a shift, "and although there are many of us, we can also cover holidays for volunteers". Another way to contribute to the foundation is through donations, "we accept clothes, furniture, accessories, objects, anything that can be sold, old or new".

In the shop in La Cala, the user profile is clear, as "ninety percent of the people who come in are foreigners, although we also have a lot of local people", Podadera added.

You can visit the shop from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 2pm. For more information you can also visit their website: www.cudeca.org.
