A new public-private partnership agreement will allow the creation of a parking area next to CIOMijas, in La Cala de Mijas. The Town Hall and the owner of the land have negotiated that a plot can be used as a car park, with a capacity for 450 vehicles, something that the Town Hall values in view of the arrival of tourists and visitors during the summer. 

According to the councillor for Urban Mobility, Natalia Martínez (PSOE), "we have signed this agreement to make it easier for all residents and visitors, especially during the summer, so that they can park comfortably. In addition, they have direct access to the centre of La Cala through the footbridge that crosses the motorway". 

The Operational Services are conditioning the plot of land, with access by footbridge to the centre of La Cala, to improve its conditions and offer greater comfort to users. The land has 12,000 square metres and is divided into two different areas. As explained by the councillor in charge of this department, José Miguel Fernández (PSOE), "now the land is being cleared, filled with earth and compacted, what we want is to prepare the plot well so that it is as suitable as possible for users". The Town Hall informs that this parking area will soon be ready to use.
