On Saturday 17th of June, Soroptimist International organised its first post-pandemic charity event at the Chaparral Golf Club, an event attended by around 80 people and with a clear objective: to raise funds for local projects. "Help for victims of gender violence, the food bank, sponsorship of the mini-female basketball team and we also want to continue with the sustainability project", listed, among others, the president of the association, Daphne Theunissen, who thanked the collaboration of several companies in the municipality and the support of all the people who attended the charity dinner.
Members such as Ellen Dijkgraaff, pointed out the importance of activities like this to be able to carry out different projects to "help other women thanks to programmes against gender violence" or children with special needs "with whom we have created a strawberry garden".
Other entities collaborated with this initiative and valued the work of associations such as Afesol, the president of its foundation, Francisco Cristian González, said that "they do magnificent work as do other entities in the municipality and we always have to collaborate with each other".
The production company Ojito de Gato, which is going to collaborate in an interesting audiovisual project, as its director, Frank Reyes, said: "They have an orchard and they want to promote it, to reach the goal of kilometre zero, they want to show us that it is possible to produce locally and consume locally".
In addition to the dinner and the charity market and raffle, attendees enjoyed performances by Manuela Veronese's Fama academy and the singer Laura Carter.
