Soroptimist International Costa del Sol organised a fundraising concert on Sunday 16th by the singer Sandie Ann. The event, which took place at the Soroptimist International Club House, located in the El Zoco Shopping Centre (Sitio de Calahonda), will allocate all the proceeds to those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. 

The 30 Soroptimist clubs operating in Turkey will be responsible for distributing the proceeds of this event. According to the president of the association, Daphne Theunissen, "they know very well where the help is needed, there are three clubs directly in the affected area; we have not lost members there, but they have experienced it in their surroundings and know who are most in need". 

Accompanied by the chords of her guitar, the artist offered 45 minutes of live entertainment, accompanied by a drink and homemade cakes. According to Sandie Ann it was a privilege to collaborate with this humanitarian activity and she assured "I think it's great to help and if I can do so with music, even better, I will play my own songs and others that I thought were well suited to the audience". Soroptimist's participants and members were present at the concert, among them Ellen Dijkgraaff, who acknowledged the importance of organising these events: "we were thinking about how to help those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and that's how the idea of this concert came about, which in some way will allow us to deliver our contribution to those most in need". 

With more than 15 years’ experience, Soroptimist International Costa del Sol is once again coming together to raise funds to help vulnerable sectors of the population.
