AquaMijas seeks lifeguards, ticket clerks, waiters, waitresses and kitchen assistants

  • The councillor for Youth, Tamara Vera, and the director of AquaMijas, María del Mar Asesio |

Except for the lifeguard position, no previous experience is required for the other positions

We are looking for you! The objective of the campaign launched by AquaMijas and the Mijas Town Hall is to cover the 2023 summer season. The water park needs to fill these jobs: lifeguards, ticket clerks, waiters, waitresses and kitchen assistants. This was announced on Monday by the councillor for Youth, Tamara Vera (PSOE), and the director of the park, Maria del Mar Asesio, who said that “we normally need a lot of staff, so we have asked the Town Hall to let all the young people from Mijas who want to work this summer know that they can take advantage of this campaign and come and work with us at the park”.

Hiring begins in June, half or full time until mid-September, with rotating timetables and days off. “ With the exception of lifeguards, who do need a special qualification, for the rest of the staff no experience is necessary, the will to work is enough, so we hope to receive many CVs and that people will want to come and work with us”, explained Assesio. AquaMijas normally hires up to 130 employees in the high season. Those interested can send their CVs to info@aquamijas.com. The Youth councillor valued the initiative indicating that “we find it particularly interesting, because through the various lifeguard courses that are also being promoted by the Town Hall, the participants will have the opportunity to find a job here in our municipality, and the park is also seeking ticket clerks and waiting staff, in short, anything that  it requires, and the good thing is that it is young people who can access these jobs”.

The Youth area has been collaborating with AquaMijas for years, with other campaigns such as ‘Take a Splash for Solidarity’, which started on Monday, giving away tickets to the water park in exchange for the delivery of products to the Municipal Food Bank. On the 24th of April the park will open with structural changes to speed up the entrance to the enclosure and in the restaurant area, creating more spaces with tables and chairs and with shade.
