These subsidies will be granted for having created permanent or permanent-discontinuous contracts between April 1st and December 2nd this year

Mijas hosted a training and information session on Monday morning at the building for Employment Promotion (Fomento de Empleo) to present the launch of a new subsidy from the Junta de Andalucía for the self-employed and companies, including those that are non-profit making, that have created employment since last April. According to the provincial delegate for Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment of the Andalusian Government, Carmen Sánchez, her ministry has promoted this aid to help the sector after the pandemic crisis, the current inflation and the war in Europe, which is affecting the rise in prices. The beneficiaries must be companies or self-employed workers "that increase their workforce with permanent or permanent discontinuous, part-time or full-time contracts. All companies that have carried out this type of contract, or are going to do so between the 1st of April and 2nd of December this year, are going to receive a subsidy".

Amount of the subsidies
Depending on the circumstances of those hired, the aid will range between 3,600 and 6,600 euros. The application can be filled out online and the Junta is committed to making the decision and paying the amount within three months. In addition, interested parties can receive advice at the Fomento del Empleo building. This was explained by the mayor, Josele González (PSOE), who highlighted the value of the presentation of this aid in Mijas, "the municipality in Andalusia that has the highest number of self-employed persons". "The special prominence of self-employed persons and family businesses in our municipality, even at the Andalusian level, shows, above all, the dynamism of our city, the generation of opportunities that we are currently providing from the government team to continue creating jobs and reinforcing the local economy".

In this regard, the councillor for Employment Promotion, Laura Moreno (PSOE), clarified that from the Local Government, we are always collaborating and "applying for absolutely everything that is provided by any public administration, whoever is in the government", always for the benefit of citizens. "We are interested in reaching the maximum amount possible of aid for the self-employed in our town, in this case, reaching the ‘Mijeños’; it is a matter of the various administrations collaborating".
In addition to this, both Gonzalez and Moreno stressed that this aid is to be added to other local subsidies, to minimise the effects of the crisis, such as Cometha and the OREA Plan, which received the award for best management at Andalusian level during the pandemic, given by the Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP).
