Mijas Secrets presented for the second time the 'Movie Tour'. During the visit, they showed spots of the village chosen for filming movie scenes, where you could enjoy these scenes of yesteryear that show the Mijas Pueblo history through the seventh art. "It is an opportunity for all foreigners who want to know more about our municipality. In this unique activity, a film is screened, showing images of movies filmed from 1950 to 1999 here in Mijas Pueblo. Apart from watching the film, they will enjoy the emblematic places featured in these films, and they will be able to see the development of Mijas since those years to the one we have today", stressed the Foreigners Councillor, Arancha López (Cs), who attended the activity.
The 25 participants learned why Mijas Pueblo was the chosen setting for screenwriters and film directors to shoot their films, "These landscapes, this exoticism was sought by the great screenwriters and directors, especially from northern Europe, Germany, France, and even America. They were looking for an exotic village, a traditional village, something that no longer existed in the rest of Europe, and they found it here", explained the Mijas Secrets guide, Sandra Gallardo.
In 'Movie Tour' village changes are evident, the ideal opportunity to compare the Mijas of yesterday with the Mijas of today. "I hardly recognised a few places, and I recognise the Valle Santana very well, but the bullring is different", said one of the participants, Carla Grauer Vette. Bernd Krauskopf pointed out that "you can compare the situation in Mijas decades ago and the situation today".
On the 7th of November, we will have a new edition of Mijas Secrets, the 'Memories' excursion. Reservations can be made by email at mijassecrets@gmail.com or by phone at 678 155 553 and 686 454 717.
