The Infrastructure and Works Councillor, José Carlos Martín (Cs), announced this morning that on Monday, 12th September, work begins on the complete remodelling of Estepona Street in La Cala de Mijas.
According to the Councillor, the works are "aimed at renewing the water supply network, to separate the rainwater and sewage pipes, while at the same time improving the street lighting and the telecommunications network". These works are part of the municipal plan to improve the town's streets and roads as they will solve problems in the sanitary network. In addition, it is important to remove architectural barriers and install paving that unifies the aesthetics of the entire municipality and new lighting to increase visibility at night.
The works have a budget of 175,000 euros and a completion period of four months, for which Martín apologised to the neighbours for the inconvenience. He also reminded them that this series of works solve the problems the sewage network has been suffering in the area for years.
In any case, the inconvenience "will reward residents with a quality leap. The improvements are not superficial as the sewage network problems that the area has been suffering for some time will end. They complement work carried out in other streets", the Mayor assured.
