The Mijas Local Police have prevented the occupation of a property in the Riviera del Sol urbanisation thanks to the cooperation of the citizens. The incident took place last Sunday morning, the 31st, when the operations room received a call alerting them from the incident. Officers from the Neighbourhood unit went to the house and, after interviewing the neighbours giving the alert, found that the house had been occupied without the owner's authorisation. There was no one inside at the police arrival time.

The officers informed the house owner what had happened and secured it until their arrival. The Mijas Local Police stated, in squatting cases, they are responsible for dealing with social demands regarding this illegal practice.
