About twenty foreigners enjoyed the Mijas Secrets Holy Week tour

  • This cultural walk was led by the local guide Pia Bruun and the Mijas Holy Week herald 2022, Fernando Torres
  • These routes through the town are organised in collaboration with the Town Hall Foreigners Department.

The participants learned more about the origin of the brotherhoods and the different processions

About 20 foreigners living in the municipality took part yesterday, Easter Sunday, in the Holy Week route organised by Mijas Secrets. On this occasion, the participants first visited the exhibition prepared by Mijas Communication to learn more about the origin of this Mijas tradition, the brotherhoods, and the different thrones. In the activity, they were accompanied by the local guide Pia Bruun and the Mijas Holy Week herald 2022, Fernando Torres. Afterwards, they entered the “San Sebastián” chapel to visit the decoration and the displayed images. Before heading to "La Inmaculada Concepción" church to see the "El Cristo Resucitado" procession, the foreigners took a short break to taste the traditional hornazo. (traditional Spanish pastry)

The Foreigners Councillor, Arancha López (Cs), valued this "cultural outing on a day when the participants get to know our traditions, the brotherhoods and even come to see the procession. They get to understand and experience from within how we, Mijeños, live and feel Holy Week".

These routes through the city are organised by two local guides, Sandra Gallardo and Pia Bruun, in collaboration with the Town Hall Foreigners Department.
